SIKESTON - Evelyn Roach, 84, formerly of Morehouse, died at 6:10 p.m. Sept. 1, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Dec. 18, 1921, in New Madrid County, to Arthur Allen and Evelyn Forsythe Kem, she lived most of her life in Morehouse. She worked at the DuPont Ammunition Plant in Louisville, Ky., during World War II and later worked as a telephone operator in Sikeston. She was a member of the Christian Tabernacle Church.
On June 14, 1947, in Morehouse, she married Harvey Franklin "Ben" Roach, who preceded her in death on July 26, 2006.
One brother and four sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, David Roach of Morehouse; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Herbert R. Brown Jr. of Morehouse and Mary and Jack Summerlott of Sikeston; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. E.J. McDougall, pastor of Christian Tabernacle Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
