DAEOC Head Start director completes leadership class

COLUMBIA - Cindy Huey with Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation Head Start completed the 2006 Missouri Leadership Institute.

The Institute took place over a six month time span beginning in January and concluding with a reception celebrating the accomplishments of the class of 2006 on Aug. 28 at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Columbia.

The Missouri Leadership Institute was designed to create a leadership poll for future success; strengthen the profession through stronger dispersed leadership deepen the skills and increase the effectiveness of those now in leadership positions; as well as develop skills critical to the turbulent environment of today and tomorrow.

The Class of 2006 benefited from the instruction of Timothy Nolan, Ph.D., president of the Center for Leadership Excellence Inc., and of Innovative Outcomes Inc. Nolan has authored or co-authored 33 books on topics including strategic planning, leadership, marketing and organizational systems excellence. Also he has more than 35 years of hands-on management experience. His applied Strategic planning model is in use in thousands of organizations across the nation.

Huey is Head Start director for the Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation Head Start Program based in Portageville.
