EAST PRAIRIE - Christine Keene Redfering, 87, died at 11:43 p.m. April 10, 2006, in the Southeast Missouri Hospital at Cape Girardeau.
Born Oct. 24, 1918, in New Madrid County, to the late Andrew E. and Jennie Virginia Gardener Keene, she was a graduate of Higgerson School in New Madrid and had lived all of her life in New Madrid and Mississippi Counties. She was also a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie.
On Sept. 12, 1938, she married Harry Edward "Ed" Redfering.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Kathy Redfering of East Prairie; five daughters and sons-in-law, Harriett and Joe Adkisson, Charlett and Paul Pfeifer, Barbara and Jerry McMillen and Melonie and Danny Griffin of East Prairie and Delores and Gaylord Grindstaff of Sikeston; seven grandchildren, Tony Busby of St. Louis, Christy Jaynes of Sikeston, Ashleigh Boggess of Russellville, Ky., Micah Griffin of Jackson, Kyla Yamada of Kansas City, Tera Shea Johnson and Bradley Redfering of East Prairie; and nine great-
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by twin sons, Harry and Larry Redfering; and one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Lucille Keene.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday. Gaylord Grindstaff, pastor of Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Johnie Keene, John D. Keene, Tony Busby, Tim Jaynes, Brad Redfering and Kelly Carden.
