Born Feb. 4, 1952, in Dexter, son of the late Lester Cleo and Juanita Harris England Welty, he had lived all his life in Dexter, where he was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He had worked as a truck driver.
Survivors include: one son, Christopher Crocker of Smyrna, Tenn.; two daughters, Jennifer England of Poplar Bluff and Roni Leigh England of Bloomfield; five brothers, Garry England of Dexter, Jerry England of Hermitage, Tenn., Gordon Spurgeon of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Eddie England of Boliver and Rick Bone of Kansas City; two sisters, Rhonda Martinek of Dexter and Vicky Working of Norfolk, Va.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Allan Cleo England on Nov. 18, 2004; and one sister, Mary England.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Central Pavilion in West City Park at Dexter with Shane Mallard of Dexter officiating.
Watkins and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
