DEXTER - Richard Warren Blankenship, 55, died July 17, 2006, at his home.
Born May 8, 1951, at Poplar Bluff, son of Mary Ellen Blankenship of Dexter and the late Robert "Bob" Blankenship, he attended Dexter First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where he was an elder, choir member and served on the diaconate and many other boards and committees. He was also a member of the Elks.
On Aug. 14, 1971, at Dexter, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Kaye Williams, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include: one son, Matt Blankenship of Dexter; and one brother, Scott Blankenship of Dexter.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Blankenship.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. until time of memorial services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Vaughn Wright will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
