WASHINGTON D.C. - Information was released from U.S. Sen. Stuart Symington's office today that final approval has been made for a $219,717 federal grant for the Sikeston Regional Diagnostic and Evaluation Center.
SIKESTON - Rick Miller pulled into third base after slapping a lead off triple in Sikeston's Legion baseball game with Imperial Sunday. Miller scored all three runs to help his teammates win their opener 3-2.

BENTON - At the Robbins farm, the crop is in the ground but it won't be harvested for another eight years. This is a fiber farm, engineered by the Westvaco Paper and Pulp Company. "The basic purpose of this farm is to grow trees fast for the paper mill," explained Jim Baer, North Area Superintendent for the mill. Beginning operation here April 15, this is the first farm of this type in the middle of the United States, though other companies have used this concept in Washington and Oregon.
SIKESTON - An estimated 1,143 student in grades K-12 are attending Sikeston Public Schools' summer school this year, which began June 3 and will conclude June 25.
