Thursday, January 11, 2007

CARUTHERSVILLE - One-year-old twins died Wednesday evening in a rural house fire.

According to Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell, at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff's department received a report of a house fire at 1301 County Highway 524. As fire personnel arrived on the scene they were told by witnesses and victims there were possibly two children inside the residence.

Following an initial attack on the blaze by firefighters, the children, Alexus Shiann Johnson and Bradley Ryan Johnson, were found dead inside their bedroom. An autopsy on the bodies is scheduled today at Mineral Area Hospital in Farmington.

Investigators have ruled the cause of the blaze as accidental. Reportedly the fire was caused by an electrical heat source.
