Born Dec. 14, 1926, in the Lusk Chapel community, to the late Charles Dunning and Clara Bell Brawner Martin, she was a lifelong resident of Mississippi County and a member of the First Baptist Church of Charleston. She was employed as a nurse for 50 years before retiring from VNA in 1998.
On June 11, 1950, she married James Edward Snowden who preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1991.
Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Charmaigne and Darrell Pull of Benton and Linda and Tom Green of Diehlstadt; one brother, Alfred Martin of Lusk Chapel; one sister, Rosa Lee Fluegge of Charleston; and four granddaughters, two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, James Steven Snowden; two brothers, C.D. Martin and James Martin; and two sisters, Lillie Linebaugh and Addie Linebaugh.
Visitation is scheduleded from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Michael Brewer of the First Baptist Church of Charleston officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Mitch Pullen, Robert Fluegge, Charles Linebaugh, Steven Daniel Pullen, Jarrod Pullen, Corey Medlock and Mark Hart.
Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.
