Born June 18, 1936, in Reyno, Ark., the son of Lillie King Taylor of Sikeston and the late Dempse Taylor, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of the Baptist faith. He had worked for Chambers Electric before retiring.
He married Norma Gordon who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Rhonda Sue Harkness of Des Arc and Karen Usmani of Houston; one stepson, Kenneth Thomason of Avert; one stepdaughter, Tonya Bailey of Dexter; five sisters, Ruthine Counts Modglin and Betty Taylor of Sikeston, Lequita Morris of Norman, Ark. and Charlotte Taylor Drury and Bunny Taylor Keesee of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Glen Taylor of St. Louis and Billy Taylor of Gulfport, Miss.; and 10 grandchildren, Randy Eskew II, Danielle Naile, Brandy Gail Taylor, Kimberly Davis, Farrah, J.J. Miriam Usmani, Tiffany Duncan and Michael and Daniel Christman; and six great grandchildren.
A beloved nephew, Glen M. Taylor Jr. preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home.
A dinner will follow at the Eagles Club in Sikeston.
Burial will follow at a later date in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
