SUGAR GROVE, Ill. -- Timothy G. James, 38, formerly of Mendota, died at 3 p.m. Aug. 3, 2007, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born Aug. 30, 1968, in Port Hueneme, Calif., to Terry James and Saundra Dollar James of Sikeston, he was a 1987 graduate of Sikeston High School in Sikeston, Mo. A stay-at-home father, he was a member of Local Laborers Union 393 and was an assistant coach of football, basketball and baseball programs for the Sugar Grove Park District Grade School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1987-1990.
On June 15, 1990, in Arlington, he married Rose Simkins who survives.
Other survivors include: one son, Connor James of the home; one daughter, Sophia James of the home; one sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Richard McGill of Sikeston; maternal grandmother, Emogene Dollar of Sikeston; paternal grandfather, Odis James of Sikeston; and his parents-in-law, Jerry and Joyce Simkins of Peru.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother and maternal grandfather.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. today at Schwarz Funeral Home in Mendota. A celebration service will be held from 11-11:30 a.m. Tuesday followed by funeral services at noon at St. Patricks Church in Arlington. The Rev. Kevin Gorman will officiate.
Burial with full military rites conducted by Mendota VFW Post 4079 will follow in the Arlington Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Cory Simkins, Kevin Simkins, Joshua Simkins, Dave Barkman, Brian Deery and Eric Meyer.
