DUDLEY - Norris Temples, 89, died Aug. 3, 2007 at his home.
Born Nov. 6, 1917 near Dexter, he was the son of the late Elmer and Miza Garner Temples. He was a member of the People's Full Gospel Assembly Church in Dudley and a retired backhoe operator and farmer.
On Nov. 23, 1937, in Dexter, he married Lucille Thrower who preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 1986.
On Nov. 24, 1986, in Dudley, he married Thelma Swift who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Gary Temples of Dexter and Norris "Bud" Temples Jr. and Clifford Temples of Dudley; two daughters, Barbara Taylor and Carolyn Sue Sadler of St. Charles; three stepsons, Luther Junior Swift, David Swift and Michael Swift of Decatur, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Audery Mendenall and Debbie Woods of Decatur, Ill.; one brother, Leo Temples of Wappapello; and 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were one grandson, Don Temples, and two sisters, Geneva Temples and Velma Rowe.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
