Burglaries under investigation

SIKESTON -- The Sikeston Department of Public Safety is investigating a string of robberies which took place early Monday morning.

According to reports, at 2:54 a.m. officers responded to Jay's Krispy Fried Chicken at 218 N. Main. Upon arrival officers found the east door to the foyer broken with a brick. Nothing was found missing from the business.

At 3:57 a.m., officers responded to Rodchester's Deli at 400 N. Main where an undetermined amount of cash was taken.

At 9:01 a.m., officers responded to John's Mexican Villa at Village Green Shopping Center located at South Main and Southland. The front glass was broken and an undetermined amount of cash was taken.

The investigation is ongoing and officers believe the burglaries may be related due to the similar method of forced entry.
