VANDUSER - After a long and valiant battle with cancer, Christie Lee Kesler, 39, died peacefully at home in the arms of her family on March 8, 2007.
Christie was born March 26, 1967, in Cape Girardeau, to Gary and Becky Evans Kesler, who survive of the home in Vanduser. She was a member of the Vanduser Baptist Church and was a graduate of Scott County Central High School.
Besides her devoted parents, she is also survived by her loving son, Brett Ledbetter of the home in Vanduser; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Eric and Kim Kesler and Chad Kesler, all of Vanduser; her grandmother, Ruth "Nanny" Evans of Vanduser. Other survivors include: her beloved nieces and nephews, Shelby, Drake, Lane, Hailey and Tristin Kesler, all of Vanduser. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Christie was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Frank and Agnes Kesler; her maternal grandfather, Elvert "Poppy" Evans; her aunt, Mary Bohannon; and cousin, Michael Kesler.
Christie was lovingly cared for by many people, her mother, foremost.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday.
The Rev. Trish Eskew, pastor of the Vanduser Church of God, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Morley.
Pallbearers will be: Eric Kesler, Chad Kesler, Jason Evans, John Henry Turner, Matt Hawkins, Mike Uhls and Charles Cassell.
