BELLA VISTA, Ark. - Robert Montgomery Sterrett, 76, died Nov. 15, 2006, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville.
Born Dec. 2, 1929, in Grove City, Penn., to the late Charles E. and Annie T. Sterrett, he was member of the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista and VFW Post 9063, where he served as Honor Guard. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Arkansas Veteran's Commission and Military Officers Association of America.
On Jan. 31 1952, he married Betty Thompson, who preceded him in death in 2003. On March 20, 2004, he married Loran Carr, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Bettina and E.P. "Jack" Moxley of Charleston, Mo., Bridget and Vern Luckert of Ottawa, Kan., and Bali Ree and Ronald Tucker of Yukon, Okla.; one stepdaughter and her husband, Amy and Quentin Venter of Anderson, Mo.; two stepsons, Scott Carr of Moore, Okla., and Brian Carr and his wife, Sue of Sioux Center, Iowa; two brothers, James E. Sterrett of Palo Alto, Calif., and John S. Sterrett of Houston; one sister, Mary Sterrett Kreiling of Tucson, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., with pastors John Conley and Tracy Evans officiating.
Inurnment services with military honors by the VFW Post 9063 will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville.
