EAST PRAIRIE - Willie Edward Williams, 80, died at 3 p.m. Nov. 15, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born May 11, 1926, in the Dorena community, near East Prairie, to the late Gough and Birdie Zook Williams, he lived most of his life in East Prairie where he was a retired farmer and attended the St. James General Baptist Church.
On Oct. 31, 1949, at East Prairie, he married Daisy Lee Willis, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Edward Dean Williams of Charleston and Larry Gene and Janet Williams of East Prairie; three daughters and sons-in-law, Verna Lee and Richard McCullough of Charleston and Kathy Ann and Terry Redfering and Sandy and Keith Carden of East Prairie; two brothers, Finley Robert Williams of Sikeston and Alton Clark Williams of East Prairie; two sisters, Judy Garrett of Sikeston and Betty McGill of East Prairie; and 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
One son, Ronny Ray Williams, and five brothers, Lloyd Ray, James Harold, Paul Sherman, Lindy Elzie and Johnny Lee Williams preceded him in death.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday. David Dowdy and Mike Johnson will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Brad Redfering, Brian Carden, Kelly Carden, Edward Williams, Robert Williams, Timothy Williams and Michael Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Counts and Jimmy Kirby.
