COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. - Alfred Monroe Williams Sr., 68, died Nov. 9, 2006, at Methodist Hospital in Germantown.
Born July 7, 1938, in Wise County, Va., son of the late James Oscar and Mamie Louella Shankel Williams, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of West Newton Masonic Lodge 707 AF & AM. He worked for McLean Trucking Company for 22 years and retired from Roadway Trucking Company.
On April 9, 1959, in Rantoul, Ill., he married Linda L. Henry who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Alfred Monroe and Debbie Williams of Olive Branch, Miss.; one stepdaughter, Alisia Ann Williams of Indianapolis; one brother, James Oakley Williams of Naples, Fla.; three sisters, Arbi DeVault and Nola Hodge of Bristol and Lona Kay Franks of Johnson City; and one grandson, Michael Henry Williams of Olive Branch.
He was preceded in death by two infant siblings.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Monday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, Mo. The Rev. Tom McCanless will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
