You better recognize

I was reading in the sports section on how some of the sports teams aren't settling down for the summer, for instance you had football, softball and basketball in the article, but what about cheerleading? I am a cheerleader from East Prairie High School and I believe we have worked really hard, not to be recognized as one of the sports teams who have worked so hard. We have only had a 2 week break so far this summer, and that is it. We worked the entire month of June and we start back on July 18. We also have regionals coming up and that takes a lot of practice too. I am sure that other cheerleaders in the southeast region that works as hard as we do would like to be recognized just as much as I would like to be, and we would appreciate if we could be more recognized. Thanks.

Mike, I'm just calling in response about the SpeakOut saying they wish the farmers would burn in hell for burning their wheat fields. Well, where I live up here in Benton there's a wheat field about 50 feet from by back door and I'd just like to thank that farmer for not burning his wheat field. There's about five houses on this road here and this farmer didn't burn his wheat field because of that. I just wanted to say thank you for this. Farmers just like everybody else, just like you, you've got a paper to run, they've got bills to pay and they've got a job to do.

I would like to know what is wrong with the VFW here in Sikeston? Some of these guys were in World War II, Korea, Vietnam. There's been a lot of articles in the SpeakOut about the American flag that flies over the post office here in Sikeston. I'm a vet myself and I've complained about it. I was in the Marines. But isn't there something that can be done to show respect for that flag? This flag flying over the post office is torn, ripped. It's been flying like that for at least four or five months and nothing has been done about it. I can't believe that the Vets of Foreign War haven't done anything about it or noticed it because we all go to the post office two or three times a week. This is a disgrace to our country and to our military personnel that have given their lives for that flag. This flag is flying over a government office. Let's complain about it and change that flag. We need to respect that flag. I cannot believe that flag is still flying. We all see it. The first thing I do when I go to the post office is look up and that old flag is still there.

This is about the spraying for mosquitoes. They go down Dover but the old people that live along the side of the parking lot, they can't even sit on their porch in the daytime for the mosquitoes. Please pull through the parking lot and get closer to the houses so the dope can kill the mosquitoes.
