SIKESTON - Ruby F. Crowden Nelson, 90, died June 22, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born April 11, 1916, in Dover, Ark., daughter of the late John T. and Lou Amy Freeman Cochran, she was a member of the Pentecostal faith and did childcare in her home.
On March 19, 1937, she married Arnold Crowden who preceded her in death in October 1981. On Jan. 27, 1988, she married Fred Nelson and he survives of the home in Sikeston.
Other survivors include: two sons, Jessie Crowden of Gorham, Ill. and Kenneth Crowden of Bell City; three daughters, Shirley Rodgers of Sikeston, Peggy Witthoft of Morley and Dorothy Crider of Jonesboro, Ark.; one brother, Early Cochran of Jackson, Mich.; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Michael Blissett, pastor of Divine Temple Church of God near Morley will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Morgan Cemetery at Advance.
Pallbearers will be: Kavin Snyder, Jimmy Burton, Donald Holifield, Terry Holifield, Paul Holifield and Gary Holifield.
