SIKESTON -- David Walter "Buck" Irwin, 85, died at 7:55 p.m. June 21, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Feb. 11, 1921, in DeSoto, son of the late David Benjamin and Lillian Hague Irwin, he was a maintenance worker at International Shoe Factory in Sikeston, where he lived for over 46 years. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church.
On April 24, 1948, in DeSoto, he married Melba Marie Kuhlmann who preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 2002.
Survivors include: six sons and five daughters-in-law, David and Deborah Irwin of St. Louis, Charles A. and Maggie S. Irwin of Miner, Edward L. and Josefina Irwin of Virginia Beach, Va., Michael and Cathy Irwin of Norman, Okla., and Harry J. and Cheryl Irwin and Dennis R. Irwin of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Kenneth Johnson of Hollywood, Md.; one brother, Elmer Irwin of DeSoto; four sisters, Grace Derickson of Bryan, Texas, Mary Oshea, Dorothy Willett and Shirley Sansoucie of DeSoto; and 17 grandchildren and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. A.J. Wollenberg, pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church, will officiate with assistance by the Rev. Greg Forrester, pastor of River of Life Worship Center.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: David Irwin, Ross Irwin, Will Irwin, Joe Irwin, Matthew Irwin and Chris Johnson.
