John Rupert

DEXTER - John Rupert, 78, formerly of Oklahoma, died Feb. 2, 2007, at the Missouri Southern Hospital in Dexter.

Born Aug. 17, 1928, in Pennsylvania, he had lived the past five years in Dexter where he was a member of the First Church of God and the Stoddard County ARC.

On April 4, 2002, at Dexter, he married Violet Wade, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: four stepsons, James Wade and Randy Wade of Dexter, Mike Wade of DeSoto and Bob Wade of Rossville, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Kathy Spruell of Dittmer and Brenda Wade of Dexter; and three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Ray Rowland of Dexter will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Armstead-Dowdy Cemetery, near Dexter.
