BERTRAND -- Vera Lou Black, 65, died at 2:13 a.m. Feb. 1, 2007, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Oct. 28, 1941, at Bell City, daughter of Lucille Taylor of Bertrand and the late Darrell Black, she was a retired farmer and a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Oran.
On July 29, 1983, she married Darrell Black Jr. who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, David Black of Shiloh, Ill., and Michael Black of Bertrand; four daughters, Karen Dunn and Sherry Newton of Enid, Miss., Sandy Friga of Oran and Cindy Taylor of Sikeston; four brothers, Junior Taylor of Bertrand and Glen Taylor, Larry Taylor and Ricky Taylor of Benton; one sister, Beverly Allred of Sikeston; and 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her father, one daughter Carolyn Jane; one sister, Shirley Warren; one granddaughter and one grandson also preceded her in death.
Visitation is at 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Jeff Reeves will officiate.
Burial will follow in the New Morley Cemetery at Morley.
Pallbearers will be: Adam Friga, Craig Friga, John DeBrock, Andrew Taylor, David Dunn and Steven Black.
