SIKESTON -- Charles L. Blanton IV, 47, died March 19, 2008, at his home.
Born June 25, 1960, in Sikeston, son of the late Charles L. and Cherie C. Blanton III, he was a 1978 graduate of Sikeston High School and attended Ole Miss, University of Missouri, Valdosta State and Florida Institute of Technology. In 1986, he moved to Ocala, Fla., where he operated the family business, Paradise Found Farm. He raced horses throughout the United States and Canada, was a licensed owner, breeder and trainer and an A class driver of the U.S. Trotting Association.
On Dec. 10, 1991, he married Pamela Stanley who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Josh Hunter Blanton and C.L. Blanton V of the home; and one brother, Brete Blanton of Ocala.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Ponder Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday with Kenneth Gibson of the New Covenant Church in Wyatt officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Darren Acup, Stan Sorrells, Scott Wall, Mark Branson, Kenny Cannon, Dale Raymer, Steve Penrod and Randy Davidson.
