Ms. Jones died at 3 a.m. June 23, 2006, at NHC Healthcare in Kennett. She was born in Charleston on Aug. 8, 1941, to Ernest and Nellie Stockman Tennon and had lived in Mississippi County most of her life.
On Dec. 25, 1959, she married McIvan Jones of East Prairie. They raised three daughters, Melissa Kay Wade of Kennett, Traci Nell Turner of Springfield and Lesli Ann Marcum of East Prairie, who survive.
Other survivors include her mother, Nellie Stockman Tennon Maupin; and six grandchildren, Lydia Kathryn Wade, Elliot Daniel Wade, Julie Claire Turner, Anna Jones Turner, Mack Daniel Marcum and Luke Hunter Marcum; and many other relatives and friends.
She was a member of the Dorena Baptist Church and attended the First Christian Church while living in Kennett. Judy was talented in many areas and enjoyed several careers. She was a homemaker, bookkeeper, social worker, restauranteur and floral designer. She excelled at each of these roles but considered her role as mother and grandmother to be her most important. She was beautiful on the outside and the inside and she made this world a better place. Judy will be terribly missed by her family and friends who were privileged to know her and love her.
