Sikeston boys win meet

Sikeston's B.J. Green races in the 100-meter dash Tuesday.
DEXTER -- The Sikeston boys and girls track and field teams competed at Dexter in a quad-meet on Tuesday.

Sikeston's boys team captured first place with 90 points followed closely by Notre Dame with 89 points. Dexter followed up with 45 points and Hayti had 27 points.

On the girls side, Dexter took first with 112 points followed by Notre Dame with 77 points. Sikeston finished with 43 points and Hayti had 24 points.

Sikeston's Stephon Turner captured first place in both the 110 meter high hurdles and the 300 meter intermediate hurdles.

Sikeston's 4 x 200 meter relay team took first place with a time of 1:33.85 and the Bulldogs' 4 x 100 meter team took first with a time of 45.19.

Dexter's Mallory Kennedy finished second in the high jump.
Sikeston freshman Dominic Fondon also had a good day, taking first in both the long and triple jumps.

Salamar Cox took first in the shot put with a toss of 47'11". And Sergio Ramos took first in the discus with a toss of 120'4".

Chad Ventura had Dexter's lone first place finish, with a victory in the 200 meter dash.

On the girls side, Dexter's 4 x 800 meter relay team took first place. Dexter's Natalie Hayes took first in the 100 and 400 meter dashes and tied for first with teammate Mallory Kennedy in the long jump. Kennedy also took first in the triple jump. Allison Smith took first in the 100 meter hurdles.

Dexter's Natalie Jackson took first in the 200 meter dash and the Dexter 4 x 400 meter relay team also took first.

Dexter's Natalie Hayes won the 100-meter dash.
Jess Satterfield took first in the high jump and Ashlee Taylor took first in the shot put. Sammy Waldner took first in the 300 meter hurdles.

Sikeston's 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 meter relay teams both placed first for the Lady Bulldogs' top performances of the day.
