Bud Thompson

PORTAGEVILLE - Lawrence E. "Bud" Thompson, 72, died Oct. 6, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Oct. 7, 1933, in Kansas City, son of the late Lawrence Leroy and Ruth Marion Grandestff Thompson, he worked as a night watchman at the Military Academy in Lexington before moving to Portageville.

His wife, Marie Thompson, survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemarie and Ricky Taylor and Brenda and Lanny Laws of Portageville; two brothers, Gerald Wayne Talent of Springfield and Bobby Talent; four grandchildren, Scooter Laws, Lenard Laws, Brian Taylor and Aaron Taylor; and four great-

grandchildren and a great-aunt.

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville. The Rev. Tim Abanathy officiated.

Burial followed in the Portageville Cemetery.
