EAST PRAIRIE - Ted J. Rayburn, 70, died July 10, 2008 at his home.
Born Sept. 22, 1937, in Wyatt, to the late Jessie and Lola Mathis Rayburn, he was a retired steel worker with Maverick Steel. He was of the Baptist belief. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army as a corporal.
On Jan. 4, 1991, he married Sherra Ann Johnson who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Paiton Gammons of the home; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert and Jayna Rayburn of Cooter and Ronnie and Ted E. Rayburn of East Prairie; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Georgia and Calvin Pearson and Katherine Rayburn of Montgomery City; and 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Rayburn Ace; four brothers, David Rayburn, Junior Rayburn, Robert Rayburn and Bobby Rayburn; and two sisters, Jackie Brown and Betty June Rayburn.
Visitation is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday with Steve Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Full military graveside rites will be conducted by the Missouri Funeral Honors Program.
Pallbearers will be: Tanner Ace, Ryan Rayburn,, Brian Rayburn, Nick Rayburn, Robert Rayburn Jr., Jessie Rayburn and Cody Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Lofton, Albert Smith, Sammy Scott, Tommy Brown, Dale Branam, O'Dell Branam and Oliver Pearson.
