BENTON - An 18-year-old Benton resident is in custody for a July 2 stabbing incident.
Matthew W. Windes was arrested Friday on charges of first degree assault and armed criminal action. His bond is set at $50,000 cash only.
Windes was arrested following an investigation by the Scott County Sheriff deputies into a domestic disturbance which started in Stoddard County. According to a news release issued by Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter, the altercation then continued in Scott County where Windes is alleged to have tried to run over two people with his truck. This led to a fight and stabbing on Dale Street, east of Miner, on July 2.
One person received stab wounds and was hospitalized. Several others were injured in the altercation also.
As of press time Saturday, Windes remains in custody in the Scott County Jail.
