SIKESTON -- Alan Lawrence "Brownie" Brown, 52, formerly of Dexter, died at 6:31 a.m. Sunday, July 13, 2008, at his home, following an extended illness.
Born July 22, 1955, in Dexter, to the late James Elvis and Betty June Akins Brown, he had worked as a brick mason for the Danny Dowdy Masonry and Boner Masonry, both in Dexter. He had also worked for Sonny's Solid Waste Service Company in Sikeston and was an honorary member of the Sikeston Jaycees.
Survivors include: a finance, Diana McConnell Cooper of the home and her two sons, Justin Morton and William Cooper, both of Sikeston; one daughter, Lauren Brown of Dexter; and three brothers, Scott Brown, Tom Brown and Rick Brown, all of Dexter.
Visitation will be from at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Entertainment Barn at the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo
Grounds, followed by a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. with Lonny Mittag, pastor of the Friendship Baptist Church in Dexter, officiating.
Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of all arrangements.
