MARSTON -- Carl Wayne Carter, 66, died July 10, 2008.
Born Feb. 14, 1942, in Chicago, to Lester N. Carter and the late Adelle Young Carter, he was a Pope County High School graduate. A member of Boilermakers Local Union 27 in St. Louis for 45 years, he planned and built Bullwinkle's RV Campground in Marston.
On May 6, 1961, he married Pamela Peak. He later married Kay Twichell Elam.
Survivors include: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Shayne and Jamison Carter of Harrisburg, Ill., and Kevin Shawn Carter of Kansas City; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Rae and David Cummings of Florissant; one sister, Donna Hope Mathis of Renshaw, Ill.; one stepson, John Elam of the state of Arkansas; one stepdaughter, Mary Katherine Trovillion of the state of Illinois; eight grandchildren; and a special friend, "Chubby" Brandenburg of Marston.
A few hours after his death, he was followed in death by his father, Lester N. Carter.
Memorial services will be conducted for father and son at 4 p.m. July 19 at the Goose Bay picnic shelter at Lake Glendale in Dixon Springs, Ill.
