BERNIE -- Quentin Spears, 64, formerly of Texas, died July 18, 2008, at his home.

Born June 23, 1944, at Montgomery County, Texas, to the late Jack and Irene Emerson Spears, he was a retired carpenter.

Survivors include: one son, Eugene Spears of Poplar Bluff; three daughters, Victoria Rhody of Bernie, Donna Stanley of Alvin, Texas and Lisa Willis of Palestine, Texas; two brothers, Henry Spears of Palestine and Robert Spears of Neodesha, Kan.; one sister, Mary Spears of Palestine; and seven grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Spears and A.E. Spears; and one sister, Shirley Stowe.

Visitation is from noon until time of services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie with George Needham officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mount Gilead Cemetery near Clarkton.
