MORLEY -- Arthur Uelsmann, 88, died at 5:50 a.m. July 20, 2008, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born May 15, 1920, in Illmo, to the late Herman Andrew and Regina Diebold Uelsmann, he was a retired motor grader operator for the MIssouri Highway Department in Morley. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II. A member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, he also belonged to the St. Joseph Sodality.
On Oct. 15, 1940, he married Cyvilla Klipfel, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: one son, Herman Uelsmann of Cape Girardeau; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
One daughter, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, with parish prayers to be said at 7 p.m. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran with the Revs. John Harth and Ralph Duffner officiating.
Burial, with full military honors provided by the Missouri Military Honors will follow in the Guardian Angel Catholic Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Andy Klipfel, Richard Essner, Bill Klipfel, Scott Uelsmann, Keith Uelsmann and Melvin Uelsmann.
