Born July 28, 1934, in Bertrand, son of the late Will Helm "Bill" and Margaret Murphy Krauss, he was a retired welder/maintenance man for Cupples Manufacturing. He was a member of Overland Moose Lodge No. 1948, L.O.O.M.
His wife, Deloris A. Puckett Krauss, survives of Overland.
Other survivors include: two sons, Aaron Krauss of Ballwin and Randy Krauss of St. Charles County; one daughter, Cheryl Krauss Maxey of St. Charles; two stepsons, B. David Hilitibidal Jr. of Overland and Phillip A. Hilitibidal of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Bill Krauss of Farmington and Paul Krauss of Walton, Ind.; two sisters, Mary Kuykendall of Florissant and Yvonne Marbry of Wyatt; and seven grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and one great-step-grandchild.
One stepdaughter, Cheryl L. Hilitibidal, and one sister, Sue Figley, also preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Baumann Colonial Chapel in Overland where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery at Lemay.
