SIKESTON -- Timothy Eual Heacox Jaynes, 38, died at 12:26 p.m. July 27, 2008, in the emergency room at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston following an acute heart attack.
Born April 3, 1970, in Sikeston, to Eual W. "Butch" Heacox of Eureka and Betty Newton Jaynes of Chaffee, he attended Sikeston Senior High School and graduated in 1988 from Thayer High School. He also attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. He had been a photographer since 1989 at the Standard Democrat newspaper and also owned and operated Jaynes Photography in Sikeston. He attended the First United Methodist in Sikeston. A member of Sikeston Jaycees, he was active in the Jaycee organization and the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo. As a Jaycee member, he had served on the executive board as club secretary and management development vice president. He had worked on various Jaycee Club projects, such as the Haunted Hayride, Jaycee Little League Football, Professional Bull Riders event and was a cook for many years at the Jaycee Golf Tournament. At the rodeo, he served as rodeo advertising chairman in 1996 and was a member of the rodeo stage crew from 1997 to 2008, was rodeo novelty co-chairman for two years and had been the entertainment buyer for the rodeo since 1999. He also had volunteered as extra help on the rodeo grounds crew and fence crew. He had served on the board of directors of the Kenny Rogers Children's Center and had also been active in the Kenny Rogers Children's Center Telethon. He worked on the Community Christmas Basket Campaign for many years.
On Nov. 24, 1994, in Las Vegas, he married Christy Brown who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Rory Christine Heacox Jaynes of the home; one son, Morgan Andrew Heacox Jaynes of the home; five brothers and their spouses, Bill and Kim Baker and Eric and Mandy Heacox of St. Louis, Matt Jaynes, Mark Jaynes and Grant and Gina Jaynes of Chaffee; one sister, Brooke Jaynes of Chaffee; his stepmother, Marsha Heacox of Eureka; his father-in-law and spouse, Justin and Linda Brown of East Prairie; his mother-in-law, Delores Grindstaff of Sikeston; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Geoff Posegate, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery at Dogwood.
Pallbearers will be: Bill Baker, Eric Heacox, Jim Copeland, Cal Crader, Ron Payne and Scott Balcer.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Jon Forrest and other members of the Sikeston Jaycees.
Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
