DEXTER -- A Dexter man was arrested after he called police in connection with a stabbing.
Around 2:12 a.m. Tuesday, Dexter Police officers, as well as emergency management staff, were dispatched in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival, the officers made contact with Lee Horton, 35, who said that while he was walking in the 200 block of Rannells Street around 1:30 a.m., someone ran up behind him and stabbed him in the left shoulder. There was a small puncture wound in his left shoulder.
Horton was transported to Missouri Southern Hospital.
Upon further investigation, the stabbing was determined to be a false report, and in an interview, Horton admitted his injuries were self-inflicted.
Around 10:45 a.m., he was placed into custody and charged with making a false police report. As of press time, Horton was being held in the Dexter Police Department.
