CHARLESTON -- James Lula "Miss Pete" Williams, 57, died July 26, 2008, at her home in Mississippi County.
Born March 3, 1923, in Belmont, to the late Henry and Odessa Lee Clark, she was a member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church where she served on the usher board.
On Jan. 10, 1942, she married Johnny Lee Williams who preceded her in death on June 5, 2004.
She is also preceded by: one daughter, Jessie Mae Williams; two sisters, Margarene Boyd and Myrette Sinks; and one brother, Jefferie B. Clark.
Survivors include: six sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles and Debra Rose of St. Louis, Henry Williams, Herschel Williams, Michael Dean and Steve and Amanda Williams of Charleston and Robert L. Williams of Columbia; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Ernestine and Andrew Anderson, Doris and Ervin Watts, Loretta and Ron Gary and Alasie Williams of Charleston and Angelene Dixon of Columbia; and 29 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home in Charleston.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Charleston with the Rev. Wiley Reed officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
