JACKSON -- Heather Hughes and Wade Howell of Jackson have announced their engagement.
A 2008 graduate of Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff where she received a degree in nursing, the future bride is employed as a registered nurse at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She will continue her education at Southeast Missouri State University. Her parents are Paul and Lisa Hughes and Shane and Carol Strobel of Sikeston, and her grandparents are Irene and John Hughes and Junior and Marie Day of Morehouse and Elaine Day of Sikeston.
The prospective bridegroom is a 2008 graduate of Three Rivers Community College where he earned a degree in diversified technology. He will continue is education in business management at Southeast Missouri State University. He is the son of Cheryl Howell of Steele and the late Terry Howell and the grandson of Walker and Helen Milam of Blytheville, Ark., and the late Milton and Clara Howell.
Family and friends are invited to attend the 6:30 p.m. Aug. 1 wedding at Big Spring National Park Dining Lodge in Van Buren.
