NEW MADRID -- Shirley Wescoat Hector, 72, died July 31, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in New Madrid.
Born Sept. 27, 1935, in Kewanee, to the late Siebert O'Bannon and Alice Lewis Wescoat, she was a graduate of the Sikeston Licensed Practical Nurse Program and worked in nursing homes until her retirement.
She married Samuel Hector who preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 2007.
One daughter, Ruth Ella Broughton, and one brother, V.S. Wescoat, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, George Clay and Kim Broughton III of New Madrid; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tracey and Todd Albright of New Madrid and Tommie Ann and Michael Gatlin of Hernando, Miss.; two brothers, James Curtis Wescoat of Mascoutah, Ill., and John Wescoat of New Madrid; five sisters, Virgie "Lady" Lawfield of East Prairie, Ruth Phillips and Betty Clark of New Madrid and Joan Smith and Judy Richards of LaForge; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid with the Rev. Billy Davis officiating.
