ELSBERRY - Mary Belle Wilson, 76, died July 31, 2008, at her home.
Born Feb. 26, 1932, in Portageville, daughter of the late Edgar Shirell and Nellie Thomas Jimerson, she was the owner and operator of Hap's Lounge in New Madrid for many years before retiring in 1996 then moving to the Elsberry area in 1999 to be near family.
In May 1946, at Portageville, she married James W. Hailey. In 1963 at Portageville she married Joe Dell Wilson.
Survivors include: three sons and a daughter-in-law, James W. "Jack" Hailey III of New Madrid, Rodney J. Hailey of Pelham, Ga., and Kingston H. and Donna Wilson of Elsberry; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra "Debbie" Johnson and William Fox of Kimmswick; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers; three sisters; a son, David Hailey, who died in infancy; and one daughter, Cathy Wilson, who died in 2004.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until time for for services at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. The Rev. Richard Pillers, pastor of the Elsberry Assembly of God Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Elsberry City Cemetery.
