GRIDLEY, Kan. -- Kenneth Dewayne Morris, 58, formerly of Sikeston, Mo. died Aug. 2, 2008 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.
Born Dec. 19, 1949, in Sikeston, to the late Odis and Oan Marie Clark Morris, he served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Moose. He was a transition officer for the U.S. Marine Corps working for the federal government.
On March 18, 1978, in Benton, Mo., he married Sharon Gill, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two son, Kenneth D. "Wayne" Morris Jr. of Sikeston and William R. "Bill" Wood of Wentzville, Mo.; three daughters, Jayne Moore of Sikeston, Connie L. McPherson of Tomahawk, Wis. and Angela M. Wood Of Mascoutah, Ill.; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. Ken Mathes of First Baptist Church in Sikeston will officiate.
Pallbearers will be the Missouri Military Funeral Honor Guard, who will also provide full military honors.
