CARUTHERSVILLE - Nine persons are in custody after drugs and weapons were discovered at a Caruthersville residence.
At 7 p.m. Thursday, the Bootheel Drug Task Force served a search warrant at a residence on Franklin Street, according to a news release issued by the Bootheel Drug Task Force.
Officers located a substantial amount of crack cocaine, marijuana and ecstasy pills. Also several guns and ammunition were seized and items reported stolen in burglaries stemming back to January were discovered, officials reported.
Eight men and one woman were taken into custody. They are currently being held in the Pemiscot County Jail pending the filing of formal charges by the Pemiscot County prosecutor's office and the U.S. attorney's office in Cape Girardeau.
Assisting in the investigation were the Kennett Police Department Special Response Team, Caruthersville Police Department, Pemiscot County Sheriff's Office and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
