CHAFFEE -- Mildred Bell, 90, died Aug. 5, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Sept. 12, 1917, at Chaffee, to the late James Layfette and Delphaia Cecelia Goode Dennis, during World War II she worked for Eli Walker in Fornfelt. In 1974, she worked at Florsheim Shoe in Chaffee and later worked until her retirement at the Chaffee Hat Company.
On Sept. 26, 1927, she married Roy F. Bell, and he preceded her in death on May 18, 2005.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Lou Spalding of Mission, Kan., and Sharon Bell of Chaffee; and one grandson, Josh Niswonger.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley. The Rev. Ann Mowery will officiate.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.
