NEW MADRID -- Alice Marie Faulkner, 87, died Aug. 5, 2008, at her daughter's home in Elizabeth, Ark.
Born Oct. 22, 1920, in Lamar, Ark., to the late Aldey B. and Lou Cordelia Adams Zachary, she was a mother and housewife and had been an employee of The Coat Factory in New Madrid. She was a member of Kewanee Baptist Church.
On Oct. 16, 1937, in New Madrid, she married Vurtis H. Faulkner, who preceded her in death on May 31, 1995.
Survivors include: two daughters, Jackie Vaughn of New Madrid and Karen Dale Moore of Elizabeth, Ark.; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Sondra Faulkner of New Madrid; five grandchildren, Angela Branam and Stephanie and John Garner of New Madrid, Andrea and Chris Roseman of Jackson, Heather and Chris Reynolds of Centralia and Deanna and Dan Spell of St. Peters; nine great-grandchildren, Aunna Alsup, Alexa and Allyson Garner, Mirenda and Amber Stegeman, Grant and Merideth Roseman, Adam and Ashley Spell and a host of nieces and nephews. Also surviving are three sisters, Pearl Lindsey of Sikeston, Ann Masterson of New Madrid and Betty Atkins of Winterhaven, Fla.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William "Bud" Lawrence Zachary and Tommy Scott Zachary; one "baby sister" Zachary; and one son-in-law, Gary Vaughn.
Visitation will be at noon on Saturday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with graveside services following at 2 p.m. at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The Rev. Thad Grimstead, minister of First Presbyterian Church of New Madrid, will officiate.
Pallbearers will be: Russell Masterson, Corkey Lindsey, John Paul Wescoat, Samuel Faulkner, Tony Jacobs and Josh Hoffer.
