SIKESTON - A telegram has been received today by the Sikeston Airport Board from the Civil Aeronautics Authority confirming the approval of the CAA for the leasing of the airport warehouse to J.O. Knupp and W.R. "Billy" Walker. They intend to use the building as a commercially bonded warehouse.

SIKESTON - A Texas family was captured by police as guests of the Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo while returning from a vacation at Fontana, Wis., to Port Lavaca, Texas.

SIKESTON - Jordan Tyler Lucy, 3-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Lucy of Sikeston, and 4-year-old Lindsey Renee Cook, daughter of Robert and Theresa Cook of Oran, were crowned 1988 Little Mister and Miss Western at the Kingsway Mall in Sikeston Monday evening. The other winners were: 4-year-old Mark Adam Wade, son of Mark and Sherrie Wade of New Madrid and Heather LeeAnn Cook, 6-year-old daughter of Robert and Theresa Cook of Oran, first runners-up; and Justin Cannon, 4-year-old son of Phillip and Karen Cannon of Sikeston, and 5-year-old Bethany Long, daughter of Charles and Theresa Long of Sikeston, second runners-up.

SIKESTON - The Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored the Redneck Barbecue competition Saturday. Competitors from across the Midwest were in Sikeston to prepare their "gourmet" delicacies for judges and the public to taste.
