SIKESTON -- Gladys Lee Rogers, 71, left to be with the Lord Aug. 11, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born July 13, 1937, in Maryville, Tenn., to the late Paul and Maggie Taylor Long, she was of the Baptist faith and was a housewife and homemaker.
She married Frankie Rogers on April 15, 1960, and he preceded her in death on May 13, 1996.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rita Skinner Darnell and Arlene Yvonne McGill; and one granddaughter.
She is the beloved mother of four sons, Ricky Rogers of Matthews, Anthony Bunch and Wesley Rogers both of Odessa, Texas, and Paul Rogers of Caruthersville; two daughters, Teresa Huffman of Bloomfield and Mary Rogers of Sikeston; two brothers Ken Long of Elverta, Calif., and Jimmy Long of Alcoa, Tenn.; four sisters, Mary Mason of Sikeston, Linda Raines of Sacramento, Calif., Shelby Samaniego of Kerman, Calif., and Freddie Sue Spraggs of Holt Summit; and 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Scott Sutton, pastor of New Life Ministries in New Madrid, officiating.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
