SIKESTON -- Maxine Richmond, 77, died Aug. 16, 2008, at her home in Sikeston, surrounded by friends and family.
She was born March 7, 1931, in Greenville, daughter of the late Francis and Gluennie (Hood) Berry. She had worked for Caprico and later was a cook at Jays before retiring, and she was a member of the Baptist faith.
On March 28, 1948, she married W.C. Richmond; he preceded her in death.
One daughter, Linda Sue Richmond, and one granddaughter, Stephanie Chancelor, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons, Steve Richmond and Billy Richmond, both of Sikeston; three daughters, Brenda Estes of Sikeston, Joann Chancelor of Ladylake, Fla., and Christina Rodgers of Cookville, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were held today at the Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Ivie Richmond, pastor of Richmond Chapel Baptist Church, officiated.
Burial followed in the Richmond Cemetery near Wappapello.
