Clara Rhodes

ANNISTON -- Clara Fay Rhodes, 78, died at 10:16 p.m. Aug. 18, 2008, at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born March 5, 1930, in Murray, Ky., to the late Fount Walker and Bertie May Duncan Walker Barnett, she lived most of her life in Mississippi County where she was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in East Prairie.

On July 8, 1945, she married Wilton Banks "Tootsie" Rhodes who preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 2007.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Debbie Rhodes of Huntingdon, Tenn.; one sister, Reva D. Gifford of East Prairie; three grandchildren, Terri Ann Rhodes of Sikeston, Adriane S. Rhodes of Gastonia, N.C., and Rebecca Paige Rhodes of Huntingdon; and four stepgrandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie with Amos Johnson officiating.

Burial followed in the Anniston Cemetery.
