SIKESTON - Electa Shankler, daughter of Edna Shankler and granddaughter of Mrs. John O'Hara, returned to Sikeston last Friday after receiving her discharge in New York City from the Army Exchange Service.

DEXTER - Jamie Sue Carney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Carney, was named Little Miss Dexter Friday night at the high school auditorium. First runner-up was Debbie Purcell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Purcell. Second runner-up was Kimberly Worley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Worley.

SIKESTON - Bill O'Guin was the winner of The Daily Standard's Kodak Snapshot Awards competition. O'Guin received a Kodak 35-mm camera for his efforts from Don Alexander, publisher/general manager of The Daily Standard. O'Guin's photo of a cardinal in a snow-covered tree won first place in the competition and will be entered along with five other local photos in the international contest.

SIKESTON - Gail Groves of East Prairie was recently announced as the winner of a $200 shopping spree given away by the Standard Democrat. Presenting her with the award is Chadd James with the Standard Democrat.
