SIKESTON -- Barbara Byrum of Cape Girardeau and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Byrum of Sikeston have announced the engagement of their daughter, Susan Amy Byrum, to Ronald Neal Gilliland, son of Shirley Gilliland of Advance and the late Charles Gilliland.

A graduate of Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University, the future bride is a parent educator with Nell Holcomb and Oak Ridge school districts.

The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of Zalma High School and Southeast Missouri State University. He is a quality engineer with Nordenia USA.

An Oct. 25 wedding is planned at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Adkisson.
