POPLAR BLUFF -- University of Missouri Extension Telecenter will offer "Estate Planning-What you need to know and a whole lot more" from the University of Missouri's Osher Life Long Learning Institute. Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. starting Sept. 17 through October 22 at the Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff.
This class will provide participants with up to date, comprehensive information for creating and managing their estates. Attendees will receive easy to understand and straightforward information for organizing their estate plans, with materials provided. The following topics will be discussed:
- Preparing to plan: things to consider before setting up your estate plan
- All about wills
- All about trusts
- Other estate plan documents: durable power of attorney--healthcare directive, general power of attorney
- Advanced estate planning documents: charitable trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, limited family partnerships
