Keenan Williams runs for 120 yards and 3 touchdowns

HAYTI -- The Hayti Indians started the season off on a positive note Friday night, holding off the game East Prairie Eagles 27-6.

Hayti, who rolled through the regular season last year undefeated, were led on the ground by Keenan Williams. Williams ran for three touchdowns in the game while picking up 120 yards on 20 carries. George Hamilton added another touchdown for the Indians in the fourth quarter.

East Prairie was led by their workhorse, M.C. Williams. The senior gained 147 yards on 30 carries and scored on a 4-yard run late in the first quarter for the Eagles' only points.

In the game, Hayti outgained East Prairie 341-197.

East Prairie (0-1) will be back in action on Friday night when they host Grandview at 7 p.m. Hayti (1-0) will host Malden next Friday at 7 p.m.
